STRATEGY

Fill up to 10 first, then add what's left.

  1. 1Start with the bigger number
  2. 2Break the smaller number so one part makes 10 with the bigger one
  3. 3Add the leftover part to 10
EXAMPLE
8+
→ 8 + 2 = 10, then 10 + 4 = 14
